As part of The Salvation Army’s commitment to UK youth work, Ipswich Citadel Corps are looking for a full time youth worker to co-ordinate an exciting and dynamic youth programme, starting summer 2004.

You will work with young people of varying experience of Christianity and will be involved in activities that will fulfil the four aims of Salvation Army youth work:

• Worship: Giving our lives and world back to God

• Discipleship: Getting into Jesus and his community

• Mission: Going into the world to find Jesus and point him out

• Social Action: Giving a voice to the voiceless

Your work will include:

• Discipling young people who attend the church

• Co-ordinating and developing busy community youth clubs and outreach activities

• Co-ordinating volunteer staff teams

• Ensuring the financial maintenance of activities

We will look for:

• A committed Christian with a passion to work with young people

• Skills in building and maintaining relationships with young people

• Team leading skills

• Previous youth work experience, preferably a professionally trained youth work qualification e.g. JNC level 2

Salary level will be in the range of £12,000-18,000 depending on experience
